Horsewomen! That means anyone who loves horses, works with horses, and loves them.

As some of you know I finished my book, At the Edge of the Forest a few months ago. Since then, I’ve pondered what to write about next.

After weeks of going over ideas suddenly it came to me. The old adage write about what you know and love is the way to go, at least in this case it is but I’ll need your help.

I’m inviting you to participate with me in collaboration with a series of short stories about women and their horses. Will you tell me your story?

I’m asking you to look deep inside your soul, and relive the love and fond memories horses have brought to you during your life. It can be a story from childhood or as an adult.

Particularly with women, the world of horses is magical, empowering, and exciting but why? What is it about horses that empowers you and touches your heart?

I’m looking for stories that captivate the essence of truth, spirit, and your love for horses. Here are some questions to get you started.

How did your love for horses start?

How old were you?

What is it about horses that inspires you?

How do you feel when you are riding?

What does the horse symbolize to you?

Your story doesn’t have to answer these exact questions per se but it’s an idea of what I’m looking for to put this book together. I’m looking for your hearts.

At the moment, the name of the book is Women and Horses, When Our Soul Takes Flight. This may change but for now, this is what I’ve got.

It will include, my own personal account of my life with horses, living in Mexico on a working ranch. A section on the history of women and horses. Myth and Legend. Why women are so empowered by the horse in what was once a man’s world. Poems, quotes, and of course, your stories.

ABIDE BY THE RULES

Not my favorite part but necessary. Once you submit your story you waive rights to the exact story submitted. If you wish to retell the story in another way about the same moment you are free to do so.
