6th Annual Boco de Oro Event

Photo Credited to Boca de Oro Contributor Madeleine Spencer

Honoring the Spirit of Healing, Recovery, Rebirth, and Recognition through art is the theme for the 6th annual Boca De Oro (Mouth of Gold) Literary & Performing Arts Event on March 5th in Santa Ana.

I was invited to participate and read a chapter from my new book, At The Edge of the Forest in the Red Room at 2 pm. In addition to my excitement about this event, it looks like I’ll have an excellent chance to meet Victor Villasenor, a well-known author for his outstanding book, Rain of Gold. For years, I’ve wanted to meet this man. He’s reading before I am. So excited!

When I decided it was time to heed my calling to be a writer, I never imagined everything would take off so soon. There were some bumps along the way as I eased my way out of our family business which I dedicated all my time and energy to for thirty years. This change wasn’t taken lightly but I persisted and stood my ground.

I’ve met so many wonderful people, fellow writers and I’ve made friendships with people in different parts of the world. What an adventure! On top of that, I finally finished my young adult book, a 4-year work in progress now a reality.

Hard work pays off especially when you’ve got your heart and soul invested in it.

Writing is my passion. My most well-known genres are mental health, fiction, and poetry. I seek the Truth, I write the Truth I seek the Truth.
