When Time Is Short and a Poem

As much as I love my granddaughter, taking care of her is a full-time job as it should be. When I’m with her I drop everything I’m doing and focus on her 100%.

These past two days I’ve taken care of her all day while my daughter works and we’re having a great time but like my daughter who has things she wants to do, this writer, who wants to write is getting restless again.

Fortunately, I have my journal but if I don’t write something every day, I get an incredible urge to tie myself to my desk and craft out a story, an essay, anything that involves writing.

Tomorrow my daughter’s workload will cease for a few days and I’ll jump back on the writing wagon train. I have a new story that needs part II written. I’ve jotted down some ideas for it. As I type this I give those notes a side glance as they sit next to my computer waiting for me to grab them and begin again.

My daughter, who wants to sew and who also has a new jewelry collection to finish sighed heavily last night when she realized her projects will have to wait one more day.

Where I live it’s 4: 30 am. I woke up extra early to write, drink my coffee, and exercise before I begin my daily routine. My granddaughter will be here at 7 am and I have a fun day planned ahead for us.
